Excel uses: learn how to use Excel with Santander Scholarships

According to the Annual Study on Time Management at Work by Workmeter, employees spend 76% of their total active time using technological tools, while the remaining 24% is devoted to other activities such as meetings or administrative tasks.

So, the aim is to boost your skills in this tool by learning the uses of Excel, which remain an important, transversal asset for almost any industry. Moreover, it's a skill that many have but few master, and therefore, it's an important factor for employability.

With this in view, Banco Santander has launched 5,000 Santander Scholarships Skills | Excel for All 2023, with which, together with Udemy, a leading platform in digital training, you have the opportunity to learn how to use Excel to deal with these spreadsheets in record time. At the end of the course, you will receive an Udemy certificate accrediting the know-how acquired. 

Excel uses: what will you be able to learn about Excel?

Depending on your own interests and objectives, you will be able to learn different uses of Excel. In this sense, you can choose from one of the two courses on offer: 

  • Complete Excel Course (from beginner to advanced)
  • Advanced Excel Course - Macros and VBA

Whichever course you choose, it will be delivered 100% online and last for around 15 hours. Additionally, it will be available in Spanish, English and Brazilian Portuguese - and it won't cost you a thing!

Meanwhile, on both courses, you will learn how to use Excel through practical exercises to reinforce learning, with the support of a remote professional instructor who you can consult with any questions.

Complete Excel Course (from beginner to advanced)

This is designed to take you from the basics of Excel to the most advanced features, so you can learn how to use Excel functions most commonly needed in business in order to get an edge over your competitors. Specifically, you will master the advanced Excel uses that 97% of employees don't even know exist, and will be able to then automate 95% of your daily tasks using the VBA Method.

Advanced Excel Course - Macros and VBA

On this Santander Scholarships Skills | Excel for All 2023 course, you will have the opportunity to explore all of the software's features in order to gain mastery of pivot tablesprogramming language or new charts with VBA + Access or tools such as Power Query or Pyvot

Specifically, you will master VBA programming language (Macros), learn to create applications with VBA + Access and new charts using VBA and Excel, you will become familiarised with Power tools (Power Query and Pivot) and you will further enhance your knowledge of dynamic tables wit DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).


What do you need to do if you'd like to participate in one of these Excel courses?

To access one of the 5,000 available Santander Scholarships | Excel for All 2023 - 3rd Call, you don't need a university degree or to be a Banco Santander customer. You only have to fulfil three requirements: 

  • Be over 18 years old as of the date of the scholarships' publication.
  • Hold nationality or residency in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay, USA or United Kingdom.
  • Be sufficiently fluent to take the courses in English, Spanish or Portuguese, depending on the language you choose to study in.

If you would like to learn the uses of Excel in order to master this tool and benefit from these free courses, submit your application by 16 May 2023.

To do so, simply register on the Santander Scholarships | Excel for All 2023 - 3rd Call website and sign up for the course in question. It's really easy to do and will only take a couple of minutes. 

Once submitted, fulfilment of the basic requirements will be verified and a randomised selection process will then be conducted before a notary. You will receive an email with the final outcome, which can also be checked on the Santander Scholarships website. If you are one of the selected participants, don't forget to accept your place within the stipulated deadline.
