Requisitos

The University of Wolverhampton are delighted to offer 40 scholarships ranging from £250-£1,000 per student / recent graduate to undertake an international placement. The International Work Placement Scholarship has been set up to support students financially with subsistence costs when on a 2 week (or longer) work placement in a EU country or further afield.

The following groups are priorities for support from the Fund:

  • Students from a widening participation background
  • BAME students
  • Disabled students (especially where DSA is unable to meet particular costs)
  • Students who have entered higher education from care for the period of time spanning their 16th birthday (regardless of age now)
  • Students who are 18 to 24 and have no communicative relationship with either living biological parent, or often their wider family
  • Students from low income families

Students outside of these priority groups are encouraged to apply as all applications will be considered:

Students can apply to the Fund if they are:

  • undertaking a work placement abroad outside of their normal country of residence
  • the work placement is longer than 2 weeks

The fund opens from December 2019 and closes at the end of May 2020 or until the funds are depleted, whichever is the sooner.

You will be notified of the Panel’s decision via email within 4 weeks of application

We are looking for students and recent graduates who would benefit from:

  • undertaking a work placement abroad
  • requires additional funding because of their personal or / and financial circumstances

Funding will be awarded to those who can demonstrate financial need, so please explain as fully as possible how this funding will make a difference. Please note all aspects of your financial situation will be treated in complete confidence.

To apply for funding applicants must submit an online application. You will be notified of the Panel’s decision via email within 4 weeks of application. The deadline for applications is 31st May 2020.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The panel have the authority to adjust payment amounts based on assessment of student / graduate needs
  2. The panel's decision is final
  3. Only one international work placement scholarship per person per year
  4. Application can be submitted before travel (to ring-fence funding) or on return from placement; however, there is no guarantee of funding if submitted after travel date
  5. Scholarship is non-refundable unless planned duration of placement is not completed

Please note: By submitting an application you understand and agree the information you provide will be shared with the panel, the relevant staff administering the funding, and also Santander Universities.

  • How do I apply for a scholarship?

    Complete the online application form. Make sure all fields are completed.

  • How long do I wait before I know if I have been awarded funding?

    Four weeks max. The panel meet every 4 weeks.

  • What happens if I have been awarded funding and then I decide not to take a placement?

    Funding must be returned immediately.

  • I applied for funding based on an eight week placement but only attended for two weeks, can the funding be pro-rated?

    No, funding was awarded based on an eight week placement so all funding must be returned.

  • Why are some students/graduates awarded more than others?

    Many factors are taken into consideration; including priority criteria, placement country and what is written on application form.
