Requisitos

Santander International Masters Scholarships are awarded to international students with an offer of admission to a one-year, full-time taught Masters Programme in any subject at the University of Brighton. 

  • Students must be from one of the identified qualifying countries (above)
  • They must be starting their course in January 2020
  • They must hold a unconditional or conditional offer from the University of Brighton
  • Not be a fully sponsored student
  • Supply a personal statement outlining your reasons for applying for the scholarship


Applications will not be considered unless they meet the stated criteria. The following considerations will be taken into account when making the award:

  • academic suitability - previous academic attainment, aptitude and ability for study at the appropriate level
  • personal background - statement by the candidate regarding reasons for the application - family circumstances - indications of difficulties overcome - overall financial circumstances
  • achievements made in any sphere (sporting, artistic, charity work, community participation)


All candidates will be notified of the result of their application. Please note that the University’s decision is final and no appeal by students not awarded the scholarship will be considered.

The scholarships take the form of a £2,000 fee waiver for a taught, one-year Masters.

Once the scholarship has been awarded you will be sent an award confirmation letter and a funding agreement form. The agreement form will ask you to support future awards by participating in promoting the scheme and sharing your story and experience. Successful candidates should also note:

  • Where a candidate does not accept the award within 31 days, the award will be allocated to another candidate
  • Successful candidates are required to take up the award in the year specified. There will be no opportunity to defer the scholarship to a different academic year
  • Acceptance of the award implies the ability to meet all University financial and administrative requirements in accordance with the University’s regulations
  • Successful candidates are not eligible to apply for the 5% fee discount for early payment
  • Scholarships are awarded for an agreed period. If a scholarship holder’s academic progress is unsatisfactory, the University reserves the right to withdraw the award
  • If the scholarship holder withdraws from the course, then the scholarship no longer applies with regard to any outstanding fee liability
  • All students who are awarded a scholarship are expected to attend scholarship events if invited and agree to allow us to share certain data (name, course, faculty, etc. as required) with other parties within the University. We may also use this information in our University's marketing activities; however, students' addresses and telephone numbers will not be given out without permission from the student, via a request from us

Personal Statement

As part of this application we ask you to provide a personal statement, in your own words, setting out the reasons why you are applying for the scholarship. This should include information about:

  • Your financial situation
  • Any achievements you are proud of (academic and/or otherwise)
  • How you expect your studies to influence your future career. 


You can also mention how you feel the scholarship and studying at a UK Higher Education Institution will benefit you (and /or your community) when you return home.
