A total of 50 scholarships will provide the opportunity to participate in the first European edition of the Santander W50 programme at the London School of Economics.

The programme equips the next generation of female leaders with training, tools and leadership skills required to advance and succeed in leadership positions.

Due to COVID-19 crisis the execution of this programme has been moved to early 2021.

Requisitos

Successful applicants are required to demonstrate:

  • Fluency in English (Your application and CV must be provided in English).
  • Professional work experience in a management role. Typically, between 10 and 20 years of work experience.
  • Motivation and commitment to achieve both personal and organisational goals.
  • A career trajectory which gives a strong indication that they will develop the leadership capacity and executive acumen required to sit on a board later in their professional lives.

We are pleased to announce the first European edition of the Santander W50 programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

This six-day on-campus programme, taking place early 2021 equips the next generation of female leaders with training, tools and leadership skills required to advance and succeed in leadership positions. Since its introduction in 2011, the Santander W50 programme has supported almost 700 accomplished and ambitious women to further develop their careers.

The Santander W50 programme is designed for candidates with existing management experience who aspire to take on leadership roles in their organisation and are seeking to reflect on and further develop their own leadership style. Participants are selected from a diverse range of countries and industries to promote the sharing of different perspectives and alternative approaches to day-to-day challenges, with plenty of opportunities for networking and making long-lasting, global connections.

Application Process

We invite you to apply for the Santander W50 Programme. The application window closes on 5 May 2020 11:59 pm GMT+1 (London time zone). Highly qualified applicants will be invited to move onto the second round of the application process via email. The selected applicants for second round will be notified May 11th. During the second round, applicants must submit two professional references and a short essay between 11 May – 1st June 2020. All documents must be provided in English.

All applicants, granted and rejected, will be notified by 06 July 2020 by email and through the www.becas-santander.com platform.

  • What is the Santander W50 programme?

    The Santander W50 programme provides leadership training in the skills required to manage yourself and other people and demonstrates how excellent leadership transforms organisations.


  • Where and when is the Santander W50 programme taking place?

    The programme will take place early 2021 at LSE’s campus in the heart of London. Due to Coronavirus crisis, we have decided to move the execution of this programme from Summer 2020 to early 2021. Specific dates will be notified once we have them agreed with LSE.

  • Who can apply?

    We require applicants to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • When will I be notified of the results of my application?

    We will update all applicants by 06 July 2020 to let them know if they have been selected to attend the programme. Regardless of the decision outcome, all applicants will be notified by email of the programme decision.

  • If I am selected to attend, what does the scholarship include?

    LSE tuition, course materials, hotel accommodation daily breakfast and lunches, networking events and selected evening meals will be fully covered by Santander Universities. All other travel expenses (including airfare) will have to be covered by the individual. More information regarding travel and accommodation will be provided upon admission to the course.
