  • Who should write my academic reference?

The reference should be from a member of academic staff at the University of Nottingham. It could be your personal tutor, your study abroad academic adviser, a project supervisor or a module convener. You should ideally choose someone who knows you, can comment on your academic performance and how this award would benefit your study abroad experience.

  • What should I write in my personal statement?

    Q. What do you want/hope to achieve during your study abroad period and how would this scholarship help you to do this?

The personal statement is a question (see above), which allows you to demonstrate to the selection committee your reasons for choosing your destination, your knowledge of your destination, what you want to achieve during your study abroad period and how the award would facilitate this.

There is a 500 word limit for your answer.

A good personal statement will demonstrate your enthusiasm for studying abroad, the country and partner university. You should show how the experience will benefit you academically and personally, demonstrate what you can bring to the programme and how the award would enhance your experience and allow you to achieve your goals.

  • When will I know the outcome of my application?

You will be notified if you have been successful or not on 26 May.

  • When will I receive the money?

Payments will be made to recipients in June. In order to avoid any delays you should ensure your bank details are up to date on the portal. Instructions will be sent on how to do this.
